At Squarespace, design is foundational to everything we do. I joined shortly after Squarespace underwent a rebrand by Dia Studio. The rebrand aimed to integrate motion more centrally into the brand identity. My role focused on translating Dia Studio’s motion branding guidelines seamlessly into interactive web and product experiences.

Collaborating closely with other talented team members, we created a Squarespace blog, to celebrate and showcase our creative team's experiments, insights, and accomplishments. This project exemplified how thoughtful motion design could enhance user experience and brand cohesion on the digital front.

  • Marvin, Jesper, and I fell in love with Madeleine Dalla’s Photography. We decided to build her a fully customizable site as a passion project. We wanted to give her a platform that would complement her art. The layout is simple yet elegant. The typeface was chosen for its delicate and luxurious shapes.

The motion was meant to mirror that but also make the interaction stand out and satisfying. This project was a collaboration from start to finish between design, motion, and development.

“We wanted this website to really push the motion style and brand of Squarespace and experiment with concepts that we had not previously been able to.

Because this website is primarily designed for people who use the web a lot—designers and engineers—and wasn’t intended to sell a product, it allowed us to be far more experimental with more inventive UI and motion.”
